2011 MTB and Road Race Rules

Online Entries
Late penalty fee of R50.00 for all distances except 20km
All participants except the 20km must be inpossession of a Full CSA license or belong to CSA affiliated club. Temporary licences will be available at R35.00

Regulations
NO HELMET NO RIDE. No participant may compete without wearing a cycling helmet.

Tribars
Tribars are only permitted in the 160km race.

Age Restriction
All participants in the 100km race musr be 17 years or older on the day of the race.

The Route
Cyclists must obey the rules of the road. The routes are as detailed on the website and cyclists must familiarise themselves themselves with their route. No protest relating to deviation will be entertained. Slipstreaming behind vehicles is not permitted. Only slipstreaming of other participants is permitted.

Late Entries
Entry fees are not refundable. If the Race Office has received your entry but your payment remains outstanding past the closure date for entries, the entry will be considered a late entry and will therefore carry the additional late entry fee of R50.00

U16 and Junior Categories
the categories will take into account the restricted gears as well as the criteria neccessary to participate in that category.

Substitutions
You may not sell your number, or allow anyone else to ride under that number. Should you be in breach of this you will be banned from participating in this event for 5 (five) years and your name will be forwarded to other organisers of Cape Argus Pick 'n Pay Cycle Tour, Pick 'n Pay 94.7 Cycle Challenge and other seeding events. You may organise a substitution with the Race Office. This will be done at a fee of R50.00. The original entry fee will not be refunded but the number will be withdrawn.

Registration
Entrants must collect their race pack at Registration

Cut off Times
Participants must complete the course by 13h00  in order to qualify as a finisher and to receive a medal. Support vehicles and marshals will be withdrawn after the cut off time.

Results
These will be available on this web during the week after the event.

Prize Money
Prize money may only be paid to cyclists with a Full CSA License. Detailed breakdown of prize money is available on this web.
Lucky draw prizes are available to all participants. 

Medals
All finishers receive a medal on completion of the route within the time limit of 6 (six) hours

Water Points
See map at Registration for detailed water points. Water and energy drinks will be available to drink.

Medical Support
Medical support will be available along the route

Waiver and Indemnity
Participants take part entirely at their own risk and agree that they shall have no claim whatsoever against the organising body, any individual or official, marshal, assistant, helper or agent, the sponsors or any local authority or their employees, in respect of any loss or damage whatsoever which participants may suffer arising from any injury to their person or loss or damage to their property as a result of whether directly or indirectly, the participants arrival and departure therefrom, attendance and registration, prize-giving or other function thereof or any lossor damage to bicycles or other equipment, however such losser damage may rise regardless of whether or not the same shall have been caused directly or indirectly by the negligence albeit gross, of one or more of the aforementioned parties. Persons signing their entry form as gaurdian of a minor hereby consent to such minor being bound by the aforementioned parties to the extent, if any to which such minor is not capable of waiving his/her right as stipulated above.
